Objective: Promote Lakeside Hospital’s Children’s Services, Adult Services, and Summer Partial Hospitalization Program. Challenge: Create a hopeful, understanding message to open up sometimes frightened minds to the possibility that they might be facing a problem that calls for outside help and reassure them the help they need is available. Ad 1 Remember when all it took was a band-aid and a kiss? Text It’s a rocky road from childhood to adulthood. Kids want adult responsibilities. They want to grow up but all they know is being a child. The stress of adolescence can lead to friction in family and peer relationships, and trouble in school. In problem situations, violence, alcohol and drug abuse, depression or even suicide can be the result. Adolescence can be the time when the first signs of mental illness appear. It can leave a young person feeling hopeless about tomorrow and a family feeling helpless about today. When the whole family is in pain, treatment becomes a team effort. We can help. At Lakeside, qualified professionals are on duty 24 hours a day for consultation at no charge. Both outpatient and inpatient services are available. Text If you measure success in dollars, you’ll always come up empty. True success comes in our relationships with others and with ourselves. It’s how we love, and how we are loved. Loss of a loved one through death or divorce, the challenges of parenting, the changing roles of men and women, loss of a job, memories of abuse as a child – all can lead to anxiety, depression, or chemical dependency. Some of life’s burdens can leave even the strongest staggering. Lakeside knows that emotional scars are harder to detect than physical scars. Text When a young person is having emotional problems, it often shows itself through difficulties in school and among peers. So when the school year ends, the problems seem to disappear, but they don’t go away. Unfortunately, summer must eventually pass and a new school year begins. Along with old problems. That’s why Lakeside has developed the Summer Partial Hospitalization Program. It permits intensive day treatment without interrupting the school year. And since it doesn’t involve overnight stays, it allows the child to go home at night and interact with his family, practicing what he learned during the day. Lakeside even provides academic summer classes, including remedial individualized teaching when necessary. Growing up is hard to do. Lakeside can provide a helping hand.
